  1. In a pressure cooker add toor dal, chopped tomato, chopped onion, chopped potatoes, add water enough to soak dal and vegetables for 1-2 whistles.
  2. Grind all the ingredients under (to be ground to paste) to a smooth paste.
  3. To the cooked dal and vegetables add Salt to taste, Ground Masala, and Tamarind juice, bring to a boil.
  4. In a small pan heat oil, add mustard, when they splutter add curry leaves, crushed garlic and chopped coriander.
  5. Add the prepared tadka to the sambhar or curry.
