The ingredients needed to make Ven pongal:
  1. Make ready 1/4 cup dry roasted Moong Dal
  2. Prepare 3/4 cup raw rice / little millet
  3. Prepare 4 spoon ghee or as needed
  4. Prepare 2 spoon cashue
  5. Get Handful curry leaves
  6. Make ready 1 spoon jeera
  7. Take 1 spoon black whole pepper
  8. Take Salt as required

Steps to make Ven pongal:
  1. Keep a cooker add Moong Dal and raw rice add a pinch turmeric powder,salt as needed and 4 cups water,close the lid.once it's cooked nicely switch off the stove.
  2. Open the cooked and smash it nicely.
  3. In a small pan add ghee jeera,cashue whole pepper and curry leaves.once cashue turn to golden switch off and pour to the pongal and mix well.
  4. Now serve hot with sambar and chutney..enjoy the traditional South Indian breakfast ven pongal
