  1. Add rice and dal to the IP liner and wash well.
  2. Once the rice and dal are washed, rinse excess water and add all the spices and ghee and mixed. Add water, mix and close IP.

  5. Once the NPR starts, start the tarka on the side.

  7. Once the cumin browns a bit add urad dal and wait for it to become light brown
  8. Add curry leaves and dried chilli and mix well.
  9. Once the chilli has blackened slightly switch off the gas and add it on top of the khichdi in the instant pot.
  10. Mix with a fork just like you are fluffing rice
  11. Can add fresh coriander and some more ghee to finish.
