This step by step recipe will give you the best dish. recipe. basically, sambar rice is combination of rice and sambar which is cooked with vegetables. in other words, sambar rice is prepared by cooking together the lentils, vegetables, rice and sambar..basically, sambar rice recipe is prepared by mixing rice and sambar with choice of vegetables. The ingredients needed to make Sambar rice:
  1. Prepare 1 cup pigeon pea dal
  2. Prepare 2 cups rice
  3. Prepare 1 small cup onion,brinjal, pumpkin, tomato, potato,each
  4. Take 2 tbspoon sambar masala
  5. Get 1 tspoon red chilly powder
  6. Get 1 tspoon turmeric powder
  7. Prepare 1 tspoon salt
  8. Get 2 tspoon tamarind pulp
  9. Make ready leaves Curry
  10. Make ready 3 tbspoons oil
  11. Take Cumin and Fenugreek seeds 1/2 tspoon
  12. Get 2 tbspoon clarified butter

Instructions to make Sambar rice:
  1. Cook rice and pigeon pea dal.cook separately
  2. Chop all veggies and keep aside.heat big vessel add oil to it.once hot add cumin seeds and Fenugreek seeds.soak tamarind in water to make pulp.
  3. Add all veggies gradually to vessel.mix well and cook for five minutes add turmeric powder, Red chilly powder,sambar masala (contains coariander seeds, Fenugreek seeds,turdal,curry leaves and dry chillies)
  4. Add water and allow it to cook till veggies becomes soft.add cooked dal and little water to it.taste add tamarind pulp,salt if required add some masala again.give nice boil
  5. Now add cooked rice to it mash little.mix well add desi ghee and serve with podi chutney and curd.tastes yum yum πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ definitely try this once you all will love it.
