- Heat oil in a pan, add bay leaf, cardamom and cumin seeds. Once cumin seeds splutter, add onions with little salt. Saute until golden brown
- Add ginger garlic paste and green chillies. Saute until raw aroma goes away
- Add all spice powders except garam masala and salt. Mix well
- Add tomatoes and cook until tomatoes are tender
- Add chicken and mix well. Add water or broth with yoghurt. Bring to boil
- Lower the heat. Cover and cook until chicken is cooked stirring occasionally
- Add garam masala with cream. Mix well. You can always substitute cream with yoghurt
- Add coriander leaves and mix well. Serve hot
