- Prepare 1 tsp jaggery
- Make ready 1/2 tsp salt (as required)
- Take required consistency Water
Instructions to make Mirchi ka salan:
- Dry roast groundnuts, sesame seeds, poppy seeds and grated coconut well.
- Let it cool down completely. Put all ingredients together in a blender.
- Add garlic, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala and methi seeds.
- Add water as required to make a smooth paste. Keep aside.
- Slit the chillies in the centre and remove the seeds.
- Heat the little oil in a pan on low medium flame and sauté the chillies.
- Remove from the pan and keep aside.
- Add remaining oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, curry leaves and sauté.
- Add finely chopped onion and fry till it becomes golden brown.
- Now add masala paste and stir continuously for a minute.
- Add tamarind pulp, jaggery, and salt. Mix well. Add desired water for required consistency.
- Approximately 1 and 1/2 cup of water is required. Mix well. Cover and cook well till oil separates from sides.
- Add fried chillies and mix well. Cover and cook for 5 minutes.
- Switch off the gas. Serve the mirchi ka salan with Biryani.
