  6. Prepare 1 cup Chicken broth

  1. Sprinkle meat with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Brown on high heat in large frying pan, a few at a time.
  2. Meanwhile start layering crockpot with rest of ingredients except sugar.
  3. Onion, potatoes, kraut, celery seed, then broth over all.
  4. Place meat in one layer over mixture.
  5. Add brown sugar over meat.
  6. Add 1 or 2 coarse chop fresh apples on top (optional).
  7. Cook on High heat for 5 hrs.
  8. When done remove 1 cup liquid with turkey baster, discard.
  9. Remove meat only to serving plate.
  10. Serve rest of mixture from crockpot with slotted spoon. DO NOT STIR.
