Heat a earthernware pot, add in oil and crakle in mustard, fenugreek, dry chilli and curry leaves. This Veluri (Anchovies fish) paal curry is a simple and tasty fish curry. I have used green mango for this fish curry. Instead of mangoes you can also use gambooge.

Steps to make Anchovy mud pot fish curry:
  1. Clean the fish thoroughly and rinse with turmeric and salt once.make sure there no excess water.
  2. Take a mud pot and add required oil. Temper with mustard, Fenugreek, curry leaves and vadagam. Once done add onions and saute. Then add tomatoes, cook until tomatoes are smashed.
  3. Wash tamarind and soak well in warm water. Remove the pulp and add required water. Add required salt as well.
  4. To the curry add chilli powder, turmeric powder and wait until oil separates. Incase if you are adding any veggies, kindly add now and cook for 10 mins with 2tbsp water. Then pour the tamarind water and bring it to boil.
  5. Now add fish and cook on low flame for 5 mins. Do not close the lid.
  6. After 5 mins add the slit green chillies and cook for 10mins.
  7. Yummy fish curry is ready to serve with rice and breads.

I have used green mango for this fish curry. Instead of mangoes you can also use gambooge. Take clay pot add water, turmeric powder, green chilies, green mango pieces and ginger.
