To begin with this recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can cook palak paneer using 16 ingredients and 16 steps. Here is how you can achieve it.
The ingredients needed to make Palak paneer:
- Prepare 300 grams spinach
- Prepare 5 large garlic cloves divided 3 whole & 2 finely chopped
- Prepare 1 tomato medium size
- Make ready 1 inch ginger
- Take 1 green chilli
- Get 1 tsp oil
- Make ready 1 large onion (finely chopped)
- Take 1 cup water
- Make ready 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Get 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- Get 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- Get to taste Salt
- Take 200 gram paneer cut into cubes
- Get 2 tsp heavy cream
- Make ready 2 tsp Lemon juice
- Get 1/4 tsp crushed Kasoori methi
Instructions to make Palak paneer:
- To a pot of boiling water, add little salt and then spinach leaves to it.blanch the spinach leaves for 2 to 3 minutes until wilted
- Take them out and put them in ice cold water. This helps the leaves in retaining their green color.
- To a blender,add the blanched spinach along with tomato,3 clovesof garlic,ginger & green chili
- Puree to a smooth paste and set aside
- Heat a kadai on medium heat.once hot, add the oil and then add the remaining 2 cloves of chopped garlic saute for few minutes until it starts charging color
- Ten add the chopped onion.
- Cook the onion for 3 mintue until soft and translucent.
- Cover the kadai and let it cook for 10 minutes on medium heat. The spinach will bubble a lot.stir at regular intervals to avoid sticking at bottom
- Once the spinach is cooked..
- Add the garam masala turmeric powder, red chilli & salt
- Mix and cook for 1 mintue.
- Then add the heavy cream and mix
- Stir in the paneer and mix. Let the curry simmer for 3 to 4 min.
- Switch off the flame, add lemon juice & kasuri methi and mix it well.
- Serve palak paneer hot naam or roti
